Question for Writers
Do you get false followers?
I am putting this in an article rather than in a note, as I hope to get some replies.
A few months ago, I kept getting notified that Aaron Maté’s mother was following me on Substack. Her supposed Substack site even had a picture of she and her husband, Gabor. I seriously doubted that this was a real Substack, but I kept getting notes from “her” even though I ignored them. I contacted Aaron Maté through Notes on Substack, who confirmed that this Substack page did not belong to his mother. He asked me for a copy of the page, but when I tried to send it to him, the page had disappeared.
Then, I was followed by Matt Taibbi’s father, along with an actual picture of him on his supposed Substack page. I ignored it, and after several attempts to contact me, the suspect Substack page disappeared.
Last week I was followed by Chris Hedges, but of course it was not Chris Hedges. Today I was followed by Scott Ritter.
Is anyone else experiencing this type of thing?

Not that I am awsre of. As my late friend, the Noted Author and Gentleman of The South Stanley Booth would have said, I reside too far under the radar, as anonymous as a by-god.
I'm sure I do. Just what we need, right? False followers to go along with false flags.
I can't wait for Trump and Hegseth to "follow" me. :-)
